Sara Piracha has gathered over 20 years of experience in the non-profit and corporate sectors. She recently joined the One Marketing team to spearhead the company’s focus on the non-profit sector and to build the Article17 Media line of business. She is highly skilled in strategic and operational planning, project and program leadership, policy and governance development, marketing, public relations and revenue generation (fundraising, sponsorship, public sector support). Through the 1990s to 2001, she honed her abilities having worked for the Canadian Football League, the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation and three technology firms, including Entrust Technologies.
Since 2002, Sara has provided consulting services to a variety of non-profit organizations and municipal governments. Recently, as Consultant to the City of Brockville, she brought her skills to bear a $12 Million dollar contribution from the Federal and Provincial governments to the planned Maritime Discovery Centre.
In partnership with KCI, Canada’s national fundraising firm, she has had the privilege of working with many organizations including the Aga Khan Foundation of Canada, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Women’s World 2011, Carleton University, the University of Regina, Red Deer College, the National Gallery of Canada, Nature Canada and Langara College.
Sara’s expertise in fund raising, institutional leadership, advocacy, strategic planning, and governance has been strengthened by her diverse community and civic activities. Sara served as part of Canada’s United Nations Delegation to the World Summit on Social Development and the World Summit for Children. From 1990 to 1994, she dedicated her time to advocating for children’s rights. She traveled Canada speaking to the issues and advocating for ratification of the Declaration of Children’s Rights to which Canada was a signator. An active volunteer, she has served as a member on various boards and committees including the Canadian Coalition for the Rights of Children, the Canada 125 Corporation, the Aga Khan Foundation, The United Nations Rights of the Child Caucus, The Ottawa Chamber Music Festival Society, the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club, and the Maritime Discovery Centre Communications Committee.
